The Barbora Way is named after St. Barbora – the patroness of miners. The way leads through the towns Banská Bystrica, Kremnica and Banská Štiavnica, an area that was a historical centre of mining, significant throughout Europe. Thanks to the significance of this region, many mining relics and artifacts have been preserved in the area. Mining itself influenced the culture and the way of life of local people, leaving behind a great heritage of technical, religious and cultural artifacts and customs.

The Barbora Way leads you through land shaped by man, however this human imprint isn’t recognizable at first sight. Pristine countryside seamlessly meet landscapes transformed by man.
